Parker, 68, was released from the hospital this week. He was there because of complications from diabetes.
The defensive coordinator was hospitalized on Sept. 10, a day before Iowa's second game of the season against Iowa State. Parker has had toes amputated in recent years due to diabetes. He has worn a cast during 11 of the past 14 months, resulting in back pain.
The kcrg.com report noted that multiple sources told SourceMedia Group that Parker underwent another amputation, but Ferentz declined to confirm that report on Friday. He said that more details will be released about his defensive coordinator's condition in the future.
"Norm's out of the hospital, and he's rehabbing right now," Ferentz said. "We'll have a statement when it's time to make a statement. At some point, we'll give you all the specifics. But I think right now, hopefully out of respect for Norm and his family, let's just let him get well and we'll get him back with us as soon as we can."
