ATLANTA -- Before Friday's game at Turner Field, Bobby Cox was asked if -- should the Braves defeat the Phillies -- he and the team would stick around the ballpark and watch TV to see if they clinched the wild card with a Padres loss."It's a tough call," Cox said, citing Saturday's 4:15 p.m. start time. "We'll see.
"Let's just concentrate on winning the ballgame."
There turned out to be no need for a late-night TV slumber party.
By the time the Braves' 11-5 loss to the Phillies was final, San Diego had a four-run lead in San Francisco. All the Atlanta players wanted to do was hustle out to their cars and get to the freeways before the fans from the largest crowd since Opening Day who stuck around for a fireworks show.
