Miracle March in the Land of Greybird

Miracle March has been at it again in western Washington. The storms started to roll in the second week of February and haven't stopped since. This time of year is the holy grail to most snowboarders; strong legs, long days and healthy snowpack have the knuckle draggers on high stoke. I wasn't living in Washington when Mt Baker broke the world record for snowfall in 98-99, but now I know what the old boys are talking about. Baker has enough snow for June kicker sessions; the snow has been falling, the temps have been low and the skies have been grey.

“Greybird” is a term we use when discussing the lighting while trying to capture images via megapixel. Dylan Hart has a trained trigger finger and has been firing off shots for the masses. Shooting  in minimal light is a hearty task. Greybird loves to flirt. She flies in and out bringing her light for a minute only to snatch it back once "drop" is yelled. The show must go on. It takes a trained lenseman to search out and find snow features that will photograph in these conditions.

Shawn Freyer and Byron Bagwell headed out with Dylan for a day to play with greybird. We got him to share the outcome with you. Have fun and stay safe out there.
