Kyle Orton and Brandon Lloyd Becoming Fantasy Forces

Filed under:

Josh McDaniels has turned the Broncos into a passing team, and it's working well for a couple of overlooked fantasy players.

With a tough pass defense on tap, Kyle Orton carved up Tennessee for 341 yards on 50 attempts and scored two TDs. Brandon Lloyd was his receiver of choice, and he hauled in 11 catches for 115 yards. Eddie Royal chipped in 113 yards and a TD on eight catches. The team was able to record a tough win in Tennessee, even without any semblance of a rushing attack.

This passing game could wind up being one of the league's best. Orton has elevated himself to QB1 level, while his continued dependence on Lloyd has made the Bronco receiver our Riser of the Week and a great fantasy starter for the near future. Both Royal and Jabar Gaffney are worth using in the right situations, and rookie Demaryius Thomas is hanging around waiting to earn his own significant portion of the passing game
