EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon coach Chip Kelly woke up on Sunday morning and his Ducks were the No. 3 team in the country, with the phrase "national championship'' suddenly hitched to the program.Kelly might try sticking his fingers in his ears and singing "La, la, la, la, la."
National rankings, BCS title talk, Heisman speculation. They are trees falling in forests all around Eugene.
Kelly won't be there to hear any of it.
Nope, he'll be busy watching film of Washington State, giving the Cougars his full attention.
"We do the exact same thing," Kelly said. "You've got to enjoy (this) or feel bad if it doesn't work out and then you go back to work. We're in the first week of October. A lot of different things can happen and I don't think this team will get sidetracked and start to look ahead. I really hope we don't throw our arms out of the socket patting ourselves on the back, because all we are is 5-0."
