Bryce Harper Is a Bit of a Frontrunner

Filed under: Nationals, Yankees, MLB FansWhen comparing the early careers of Bryce Harper and LeBron James, you'll find that the two have quite a bit in common. Both James and Harper, the top pick in last June's draft, received a lot of hype and media attention while still in high school, and both have been viewed as the future of their respective sports.

As it turns out, their similarities don't end with their athletic endeavors. Both have the same interests in the teams they like to root for. Championships or bust.

Harper was on a D.C. radio station on Tuesday afternoon. The subject of which teams he grew up rooting for came up, and the list was full of the teams that America loves to hate. Harper loves the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Duke Blue Devils and the Texas Longhorns. At least the Longhorns probably aren't reviled by as many Americans as the first three.

Now, while rooting for the Cowboys, Lakers and Blue Devils may not be the most endearing quality somebody can have, they're not the biggest problem in Harper's choices. He was also asked who his favorite baseball team was. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
