Mark Dantonio's Heart Attack a Punishment by God, Says Radio Host

Filed under: Michigan State, Notre DameMatt Patrick, a radio host for WTRC FM-95.3 in South Bend, Ind., the home of Notre Dame, told his listeners on Tuesday morning that "God is going to get you," if you "cheat" playing football against the Irish.

He was referring to the fake field goal call Spartans' head coach Mark Dantonio drew up in last Saturday's overtime win against Notre Dame. Instead of kicking a 46-yard field goal in an attempt to tie the game up, Dantonio's team successfully converted a fake field goal on 4th-and-13 from the Notre Dame 29 to give the Spartans a stirring victory.

Following the 34-31 win, Dantonio, 54, suffered a mild heart attack, prompting Patrick's comments on his radio show. His lowbrow statement did not go over too well with Michigan State fans.

Within seconds of his comment, Patrick's phone lines lit up with furious fans from East Lansing, Michigan. His inbox was also flooded with death threats and he was reportedly signed up for porn sites, according to the Detroit Free Press. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
