Jets Coach Rex Ryan Non-Committal on Braylon Edwards' Status

Filed under: Jets, AFC EastDAVIE, Fla. -- Rex Ryan regaled the South Florida media with lots of funny anecdotes and typical Ryan-isms during his weekly conference call with the visiting team, but one topic he chose not to elaborate on was the status of wide receiver Braylon Edwards for Sunday night's game against the Miami Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium.

"I have not really decided that yet," Ryan said. "But at the appropriate time we'll make the right decision for our football team."

Earlier in the day Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum stated that Edwards will be active for the game but will not start and from that point on the decision was in the hands of Ryan and his staff. Edwards could come into the game as early as New York's second offensive series, sit the entire first half or never take the field. There are plenty of schools of thought on how he should be treated, but Ryan also has to take into account how his decision will impact the outcome of the game.
