Filed under: 49ers, NFC WestSan Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary is up in arms about suggestions of dysfunction on his team.
He says too, however, that he isn't going on a witch hunt; his time is more valuable to him than that.
"I don't want to spend the time trying to find a rat,'' Singletary told the media covering the team Thursday. "In time, that smell will come.''
It's not likely Singletary will forget, however. He was clearly disappointed that a source inside his organization apparently talked to a reporter for Yahoo! Sports.
"To me, that's a rat,'' the coach said. "That's a coward and a rat.
"In our country, it's the saddest thing that's happened,'' Singletary said. "One thing I want to teach our guys is to be men. If there's something you have to say, go say it. And say that you said it.''
A report from Yahoo! Sports said the play calls from offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye in the season opener against Seattle came in both late and garbled to quarterbacks coach Mike Johnson on the sideline. It was further suggested that Johnson's calls to quarterback Alex Smith were late. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
