Derek Jeter's Acting Job Amuses Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire

Filed under: Rays, Twins, YankeesCHICAGO -- Just about the first thing that Twins manager Ron Gardenhire saw when he got back to his hotel room Wednesday night was a replay of the Yankees' Derek Jeter not getting hit by a pitch.

That video clip was close to being the second and third thing he saw, too.

"You couldn't turn on the TV and not see it," Gardenhire said Thursday before the final game of the Twins' showdown series with the Chicago White Sox.

Gardenhire's reaction to Jeter getting awarded first base when the ball never touched him? He laughed.

"Everybody does it," he said. "They do it when they act like they fouled a ball off their foot and jump in the air and later you see it wasn't even close and they weren't hit at all. It's just the game." Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
