Take the Giants. They hardly ever score. They generated two runs on a broken-bat flare and a sickly little grounder on Wednesday night, but that was enough for a 2-1 victory over the Dodgers.
When it was over, and when manager Bruce Bochy could bask in the glow of a victory that pulled his team back within a 1/2 game of the Padres in the NL West and a 1/2 game of the Braves in the wild-card race, he could finally stop grinding his teeth and smile.
"This is our way," Bochy said. "You know the slogan. Giants baseball -- torture. It's the way we do things." Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
