Cardinals relief pitcher Blake Hawksworth was knocked out of his team's game against the Cubs Saturday when a line drive off the bat of Sam Fuld struck him in the face.Hawksworth stayed on the ground for several minutes after Fuld's comebacker hit him, but he eventually left the field with some assistance. He was taken to a Chicago-area hospital for tests and examination.
"He's getting a CT scan," St. Louis manager Tony La Russa told reporters. "There are going to be quite a few stitches. He never lost consciousness, but there's a chance he might have to have some dental work. We'll just have wait see what the scan says."
