Filed under: South Carolina, SEC, VideoKenny McKinley, former South Carolina football star, was found dead Monday night, in what has been reported as an apparent suicide. The Denver Broncos player wore the jersey for coach Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks from 2005-2008, where he was an honorable mention All-American.
During his career, McKinley distinguished himself as possibly the best wide receiver in South Carolina history, amassing 207 catches and 2,781 yards -- both school records. When he left the school, he was third in SEC history in catches and became the 12th SEC player in history to rack up more than 2,700 receiving yards.
Below is a video of Spurrier discussing his thoughts and feelings after McKinley's death. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
