With the NL wild-card race coming down to the wire, the Atlanta Braves are hoping for all the help they can get to make up their one-game deficit on the Padres and Giants. If they're hoping to get a boost from injured starter Jair Jurrjens, though, they're going to need the help of the team doctors.Jurrjens is getting an injection in his right knee on Monday, which the righty hopes will medicate the pain from his torn meniscus and help him take the mound in the season's final week. He needs the injection after feeling pain during a bullpen session this afternoon.
The knee injury isn't the only problem Jurrjens has had this year. A hamstring problem kept him out of action for all of May and most of June. As a result, the 24-year-old has only made 20 starts in 2010 after leading the National League with 34 starts in 2009.
