Filed under: Cubs, MLB InjuriesChicago Cubs catcher Geovany Soto will have arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder Monday, ending his season.
The backstop has been battling shoulder pain for much of 2010, and the procedure will clean up his right acromioclavicular joint. Getting the surgery done now will enable Soto to be fully healthy by Jan. 1 and ready for spring training in February.
